How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Payroll & Pensions Manager

    Location: Cambridge or Huntingdon

    Start Date: Immediate Start

    Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum

Cambridge Regional College is a large and inspirational centre of learning with campuses in Cambridge and Huntingdon, offering outstanding teaching and leisure facilities alongside a collaborative and supportive working culture. With Investors in People Gold status, the college is committed to investing in staff development and wellbeing while providing a modern and engaging working environment.

    The college is looking to appoint a permanent Payroll & Pensions Manager on a full-time basis. The successful Payroll & Pensions Manager will lead the end-to-end payroll function, oversee PAYE and HMRC compliance, and manage Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administration. The role will also involve maintaining and developing the iTrent payroll system, producing payroll reports and forecasts, and supporting finance and audit requirements through accurate documentation and process improvement.

    The successful Payroll & Pensions Manager will have:

    Experience managing end-to-end payroll operations

    Strong knowledge of PAYE, HMRC compliance, and statutory payroll requirements

    Experience administering Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

    Experience using payroll systems such as iTrent

    Excellent organisational and reporting skills

    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
