How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading property consultancies are currently seeking a driven and commercially focused Senior Building Surveyor to join their thriving London Building Consultancy team, working on a diverse range of commercial property instructions.

    My client continue to grow their Project & Development Services offering and are now looking to strengthen their Building Consultancy team with the appointment of a Senior Building Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to work with major investors, landlords and occupiers within a collaborative, high performing environment, with clear scope for progression and increased client ownership.

    The Senior Building Surveyor Role

    The successful Senior Building Surveyor will be involved in a broad mix of professional and project led building surveying services across the commercial property sector. You will take responsibility for delivering instructions, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior surveyors, while also contributing to business development and wider team initiatives.

    This role offers genuine flexibility through hybrid working and exposure to high profile London, regional and pan European projects.

    Duties of the Senior Building Surveyor to include:

    · Delivering core Building Surveying services across commercial property portfolios
    · Advising on dilapidations (landlord and tenant)
    · Undertaking technical due diligence instructions
    · Acting as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent
    · Preparing planned preventative maintenance schedules
    · Undertaking reinstatement cost assessments
    · Preparing schedules of condition
    · Advising on building pathology, defects and remedial solutions

    The Person?

    The successful Senior Building Surveyor will be technically strong, commercially aware and confident operating in a client facing role. The ideal candidate will fit the following description:

    · Proven experience within a commercial consultancy environment
    · Strong grounding across core professional Building Surveying services
    · Excellent client facing, communication and negotiation skills
    · Highly organised with strong report writing capability
    · Proactive and adaptable, able to manage multiple instructions
    · Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a team culture
    · Experience working with investor, developer and occupier clients beneficial
