How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism) – Year 1 Primary School – East Finchley
    Location: East Finchley, North London
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

    About the Role
    Destination Education is seeking a patient, dedicated, and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism (ASD) within a supportive and inclusive primary school in East Finchley. This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s early education journey.
    You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide consistent, structured support for a pupil who requires tailored intervention to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop communication and social skills. The role will involve creating a calm, predictable, and nurturing environment to support both academic and personal development.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism (ASD).
    Implement and follow the pupil’s EHCP and individual support plan.
    Support communication, interaction, and emotional regulation.
    Adapt learning activities to suit the pupil’s needs and learning style.
    Encourage positive behaviour and support transitions throughout the school day.
    Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support team.
    Monitor progress and provide feedback on development and engagement.The Ideal Candidate

    Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ideally in a primary school setting.
    Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    Ability to remain consistent and resilient in challenging situations.
    Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
