How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Electrical Technician (EV Charging Infrastructure)
    Location: North West Scotland/ Highlands (Field-Based)
    Positions Available: 2

    Overview

    Peace Recruitment Services, seeks two skilled Electrical Technicians to join our client’s field-based team in the North West of Scotland.

    This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working outdoors, and being on the move. You’ll help install and maintain electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the Scottish Highlands, often in remote and rural locations.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    * Installing, commissioning, and testing EV charging units

    * Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance

    * Diagnosing and repairing electrical and network faults

    * Responding to callouts when required

    * Ensuring all work meets safety standards and regulations

    * Completing service reports and compliance documentation

    * Working closely with colleagues, contractors, and site partners

    * Representing the company professionally on-site

    * Keeping tools, equipment, and your vehicle in good condition

    What We’re Looking For

    * Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification

    * Experience in installation, maintenance, or field service work

    * Full, clean UK driving licence

    * Comfortable travelling regularly, including to remote locations

    * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

    * Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach

    Desirable (Not Essential)

    * EV charging qualifications (2921-32, 2921-33, 2921-34)

    * Experience with EV infrastructure or renewable energy systems

    * Knowledge of networking systems (SIM, Wi-Fi, OCPP)

    * Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent)

    * Understanding of health & safety in field-based roles
