How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs?
    Looking to gain hands-on experience in a highly supportive school environment and build a rewarding career in education or care?

    Role Details:
    * Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
    * Pay: £95 - £105 per day
    * Start Date: September 2026 (trial days available now)
    * Contract: Monday to Friday, term-time only
    * Duration: Full academic year (with potential to become permanent)
    * Location: Norwich, Norfolk

    About the Role:
    As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will support pupils aged 4-16 with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and physical disabilities. Many pupils are non-verbal and require high levels of support with communication, mobility, and daily care. You'll work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on training and making a meaningful difference every day.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
    * Supporting pupils with communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory approaches
    * Assisting with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene, delivered with dignity and respect
    * Supporting mobility, including use of hoists and specialist equipment (training provided)
    * Assisting with sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities
    * Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, and external professionals
    * Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and highly structured learning environment

    This position is ideal for:
    * Aspiring teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, or healthcare professionals
    * Graduates or career changers interested in complex needs and specialist education
    * Individuals who are patient, compassionate, attentive, and committed to supporting children with high levels of need

    What We're Looking For:
    * A genuine passion for working with children with PMLD and complex needs
    * Willingness to support full personal care and physical needs
    * Comfort working in a highly hands-on, care-focused environment
    * Previous experience in care, SEN, or support work (desirable, not essential)
    * Full-time availability and commitment

    Why Apply?
    * Gain specialist, hands-on experience in a highly rewarding setting
    * Access ongoing training in areas such as manual handling, communication, and complex needs support

    If you're ready to take on a truly meaningful role where every day brings the opportunity to make a profound difference, we'd love to hear from you.
