How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering complex projects across the water, utilities, transport, and energy sectors. The business works across major frameworks and standalone schemes, with a strong reputation for safe, high-quality delivery and collaborative project teams.

    The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will provide engineering support across multiple regional projects, responsible for setting out works and establishing survey control in line with contract drawings, ensuring accuracy through regular checks.

You will initially support the Manor Road NOS7 and NOS8 remediation packages for a major water client. These involve the repair of two bridge structures and five trunk sewer barrels across rail and road spans. With the scheme currently in design, this role offers early involvement in a complex, large-scale infrastructure project.

You will work closely with Site Agents, Sub Agents, and Engineers to support project delivery from design through to construction, helping to identify risks, develop solutions, and improve efficiency. The role also provides exposure to cost, programme, and contract management, as well as involvement in site HSQE documentation and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

    * Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures

    * Support development and implementation of HSQE documentation

    * Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, and defect-free

    * Promote best practice and identify value engineering opportunities

    Site Engineering

    * Establish and maintain survey and level control for contracts

    * Carry out accurate setting out from contract drawings with regular checks

    * Maintain site records, diaries, and allocation sheets

    * Resolve technical issues as they arise on site

    * Support procurement planning, ITPs, task briefings, and short-term look-aheads

    About You

    Essential

    * Experience in setting out on civil engineering projects

    * Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety, and regulations

    * Competent with robotic total station or EDM equipment

    * Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

    * Strong communication skills and a proactive approach

    Desirable

    * AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience

    * Temporary Works or CAT & Genny training

    * CSCS Card

    * First Aid, NEBOSH or IOSH certifications

    What’s on Offer

    * Competitive salary and benefits package

    * Long-term secured work on major UK infrastructure projects

    * Early involvement in complex water sector schemes
