How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role:

As the Director of Asset Management, you will lead the UK asset management function, overseeing condition, compliance, risk management and programmes of work across a complex portfolio of residential and specialist assets. This role suits a senior professional with a strong surveying foundation who has developed broader leadership experience across asset strategy, programme delivery and stakeholder management. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing clear strategic insight and assurance to senior leadership.

This is a national role with regular travel and structured collaboration across office locations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership

    * Lead and develop the asset management strategy, standards and governance frameworks.

    * Provide expert advice to senior leadership on risk, opportunity and long‑term planning.

    * Drive best practice across asset management processes, reporting and performance.

    Portfolio & Programme Management

    * Oversee cyclical, thematic and responsive inspections across the portfolio.

    * Direct refurbishment, maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring quality and value.

    * Maintain oversight of statutory, regulatory, lease and health & safety compliance.

    * Lead complex, multi‑site and cross‑functional programmes of work across the UK.

    Technical & Professional Oversight

    * Act as senior technical authority on building pathology, risk and compliance matters.

    * Review, produce and sign off condition reports, cost plans, ESG assessments and recommendations.

    * Translate technical data into clear, actionable investment and operational decisions.

    Stakeholder & Partner Management

    * Manage and hold external surveyors, consultants, contractors and advisors to account.

    * Work collaboratively with finance, ESG, compliance and transaction teams.

    * Build senior‑level relationships that support long‑term asset performance and stewardship.

    What We’re Looking For:

    * Degree in Building Surveying or a related built‑environment discipline.

    * MRICS (or equivalent senior professional standing).

    * Significant experience leading asset management across a large, complex property portfolio.

    * Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction standards, fire safety and health & safety.

    * Proven ability to lead major programmes and manage multiple specialist consultants.

    * Experience translating technical outputs into strategic, commercial decision‑making.

    * High levels of professional judgement and ability to operate with minimal supervision.

    * Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

    * Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel nationally.

    Desirable Experience:

    * Background within healthcare, supported living or other regulated residential environments.

    * Experience implementing ESG and sustainability initiatives at portfolio level.

    * Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting specialist housing assets
