How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced and commercially minded Product Development Engineer to join our client on a permanent and full-time basis based on the outskirts of Loughborough, Leicestershire.

    Salary: £32-40,000 per annum depending on experience

    Working hours: Monday to Friday and office based.

    About the role:

    The Product Development Engineer will support the development, validation, and launch of new and existing products across their full lifecycle. The role sits within a technical team responsible for high-volume product development and ongoing product improvement.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Support product development from concept through to commercial launch
    Design and execute prototype testing for performance and durability validation
    Review compliance requirements and testing standards
    Produce technical reports, documentation, and product specifications
    Conduct product inspections and quality checks
    Support root cause analysis and non-conformance reporting
    Contribute to continuous improvement of technical systems and processes
    Maintain calibration records and support quality assurance activity
    Provide technical input to other departments.
    Support product training, documentation, and customer-facing technical materials

    Qualifications and Experience

    A degree (BSc/MEng) in Mechanical Engineering / similar STEM subject, or comparable industrial experience would be advantageous.
    An understanding of UK and EU product safety laws and how to ensure that products are compliant.
    Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 is preferable.
    Experience in product development, engineering, or technical product support
    Strong understanding of testing, validation, and quality assurance processes
    Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports
    Analytical and detail-oriented approach to problem solving
    Comfortable working cross-functionally across technical and commercial teams
    A hands-on person with a genuine interest in engineering.

    This is a mid-senior level engineering role involving hands-on responsibility for product testing, technical documentation, compliance validation, and cross-functional support.
