How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Paid Teacher Training

Could this be the route that takes you from graduate to qualified English teacher? Are you looking for a school-based opportunity where you can build confidence first, then move into a permanent teaching pathway?

    *** Paid Teacher Training
*** Temp to Perm – Starts September 2026
    *** £90 - £125 per day initially
    *** ‘Good’ secondary school, Edgbaston
*** Opportunity to train as an English Teacher

    The Role:
Join the English department in a developmental role designed to prepare you for teacher training. You will support pupils through 1:1 work, small-group intervention, lesson support, and targeted help with reading, writing, analysis, and exam preparation, while learning from experienced staff in a live secondary setting. Secondary school teachers work with students aged 11 to 16, or up to 19 in schools with sixth forms.

    The Candidate:
You are articulate, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly. You want proper secondary school experience, you enjoy helping pupils improve in English, and you see this as a genuine route into teaching rather than just another temporary role. Official Department for Education guidance confirms there are several routes into teaching in England, including school-based and salaried options that lead to qualified teacher status.

    Requirements

Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
    The School:
This ‘Good’ secondary school in Edgbaston offers a strong setting for a graduate who wants to prove themselves in the classroom and then progress into training. The temp to perm structure gives you the chance to build confidence in school first, then move into a longer-term route towards becoming an English teacher. Department for Education guidance says full-time salaried teacher training usually lasts one academic year on a School Direct salaried course, and trainees on most salaried routes should not carry more than 90% of a full-time teacher’s duties. (url removed)’s enhanced DBS eligibility guidance was also updated on 20 January 2026.

    How to Apply
Apply today with your CV to be considered for this Paid Teacher Training role. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to discuss next steps and arrange interview. Early applications are encouraged, as the school may appoint before the closing date.

Due to the high number of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted
