How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Machine Operative (Woodwork Machinery)
    £15.25 - £17.50 + 4 Day week + Training + Pension + Overtime + Medicash + Free Gym Membership
    Factory Based - Ideally Located: Warrington, Bolton, St Helens, Rochdale, Widnes

    Are you a Machine Setter with experience working on woodwork machinery or similar, looking to join a well-established business on their new site, where they offer a great work-life balance via a 4 day working week?

    The company values its staff and maintains high standards of quality and teamwork. You'll work in a supportive environment with clear opportunities to progress as the site expands and more machines come online.

    You'll operate and maintain machines that produce timber parts, such as window boards and linings. Expect hands-on work, quick setups, safety checks, and maintaining a smooth operation with your team.

    The role runs Monday to Thursday, 3 pm to 1 am, giving you a long weekend every week. Pay is competitive, ongoing training and development coupled with perks like a pension, occasional bonuses, Medicash, and discounted gym access.

    Perfect for a Machine Setter who wants variety, training, and a shorter working week, as well as the opportunity to progress their career.

    The Role:

    Operate and maintain a variety of timber production machines.
    4-day week, Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 1 am.
    Weekend overtime available - 1.5x basic rate.The Person:

    Confident using - or quick to learn - woodworking machines like crosscuts, moulders, glue, wrap, paint, CNCs, and more.
