How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working at the intersection of thermodynamics, control systems, and product engineering, they are developing highly technical systems used within demanding and regulated applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in control systems, modelling, and system integration who enjoys working across the full product development lifecycle.

In role, you will support the design and development of advanced refrigeration systems, focusing on control algorithms, simulation, integration, and performance optimisation. You will work closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with technical and commercial requirements.

The role is based in the Chelmsford area and is an office-based role.

    Key Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for ultra-low temperature refrigeration applications.
Develop and implement PID and advanced control strategies for precise thermal regulation.
Build, calibrate, and validate numerical models using MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools.
Analyse system performance data and optimise control strategies and thermodynamic efficiency.
Support integration of sensors, actuators, and refrigeration hardware into complete systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and technical requirements.
Support testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities throughout development.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, control logic, and operating procedures.
    Experience Required

Ideally have a degree in Control Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Strong experience in control systems design and system dynamics.
Experience with modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
Knowledge of embedded or industrial control software development.
Understanding of sensors, actuators, and system integration principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a data-driven approach.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
    Salary: £60,000–£65,000
Benefits: 25 days holiday, Pension, Healthcare
Interview Process: 3 stages – first two on Teams. Final stage in the office

If this role sounds of interest, please apply and I can give you a call.
