How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Hailsham, East Sussex, UK
    Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Overview
    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator to join a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business specialising in precision-engineered components and complex fabricated assemblies.
    This role will involve TIG welding and fabrication of vacuum chambers, components, and sub-assemblies, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards and within required production timescales.
    You will also support quality control activities including leak testing operations using specialist helium leak detection equipment within a fast-paced precision engineering environment.
    Working Hours
    * Full-time permanent position
    * Flexible shifts within opening hours Monday to Thursday
    * Early finish on Fridays
    * No weekend work
    Qualifications
    * Minimum 3 years’ experience in TIG welding
    * BTEC/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing advantageous
    Essential Requirements
    Candidates will only be considered if they meet all essential requirements below:
    * Minimum 3 years’ TIG welding experience
    * Experience welding and fabricating metal components within an engineering or manufacturing environment
    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    * Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
    * Good understanding of fabrication and welding processes
    * Experience using precision measuring equipment
    * Ability to work to production deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
    * Strong understanding of health and safety within a workshop or manufacturing environment
    * Flexible and team-focused approach
    * Strong attention to detail and quality
    Desirable Requirements
    * Experience welding stainless steel or Mu-metal materials
    * Previous vacuum industry experience
    * Basic turning or machining knowledge
    * Experience working within a precision engineering or fabrication environment
    * Experience using helium leak detection equipment
