How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    APC Building Surveyor
Join a respected consultancy where you’ll gain real exposure, strong mentorship and broad project experience

An established interdisciplinary consultancy based in Ascot is looking to appoint an APC level Building Surveyor following continued growth and increasing project workload across London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants proper technical development, varied project exposure and strong APC support within a collaborative and highly experienced team.

Unlike larger corporate environments where junior surveyors can become siloed, this role offers broad involvement across both project and professional Building Surveying work from day one.

    What you’ll be doing
    • Supporting contract administration and project delivery work
    • Undertaking building surveys, schedules of condition and acquisition surveys
    • Assisting with dilapidations and wider professional instructions
    • Working closely with contractors, consultants and clients
    • Supporting senior surveyors across varied refurbishment and maintenance projects
    • Gaining exposure across the full lifecycle of projects

    Sector exposure
Projects span commercial, education, heritage, healthcare and residential sectors including schools, universities, laboratories, offices, private clubs and listed buildings across London and the surrounding counties.

    What they’re looking for
    • Building Surveying degree or equivalent
    • APC candidate or near Chartered level
    • Strong technical understanding of buildings and construction
    • Contract administration and project experience preferred
    • Proactive attitude with willingness to learn
    • Comfortable working within a collaborative office environment

    Salary & benefits
    • £30,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
    • APC support with strong internal track record
    • APC fees paid
    • Firmwide bonus scheme
    • Additional bonus for business generation
    • 25 days holiday rising with service
    • Long term progression opportunities
    • Hybrid flexibility once established

Why this role will excite you
    • Strong mentorship from experienced Chartered Surveyors
    • Broad exposure across project and professional work
    • Opportunity to avoid being pigeonholed too early
    • Collaborative team with direct access to senior leadership
    • Established consultancy with long standing client relationships
    • Interdisciplinary environment alongside Architecture, PM and MEP teams

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll genuinely develop technically, gain varied experience and receive proper APC support, this is well worth a confidential conversation.
