How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This role involves overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of rotating equipment within the energy & natural resources industry. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring operational reliability and efficiency in a permanent position based in Paisley.

    The employer is a medium-sized organisation operating within the energy & natural resources sector. They are known for their focus on engineering excellence and their commitment to high-quality service delivery across their projects.

    Description

    The Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer will need;

    Review of tender specifications
    Creating and checking of tender documentation including drawings, specifications, parts lists, and technical descriptions.
    Technical coordination of vendors for sub-contractor parts/services.
    Project planning and technical support of commercial discussions with Customers and suppliers.

    Field support

    Provide technical support during rotating equipment and gas turbine overhaul
    Secondment to site.
    Preparing installation procedures, method statements and risk assessments.Product development

    Develop Models, drawings and specifications for a wide range of rotating equipment and gas turbine component parts and assemblies.

    Other Duties

    Respond to both internal and external technical enquiries.
    Review and action production concession requests and non-conformance reports.
    Respond to repair process and development issues.
    Conduct RCA's in conjunction with field and customer representatives.
    Site surveys as required.

    Profile

    A successful Rotating Equipment Engineer should have:

    A degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
    Experience working with rotating equipment within the energy & natural resources industry.
    Ideally knowledge of Industrial Gas Turbines
    Strong technical knowledge of maintenance and repair processes.
    Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Job Offer
