Senior Transport Consultant

TXM Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Transport Consultant located in Basingstoke to join a growing Transport Development Planning team. This role is a permanent, full time hybrid position paying between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.

This role would suit candidates with approximately 3–8 years’ experience in transport planning, either within consultancy or a local authority setting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, retail, and leisure development projects within a collaborative and supportive consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review technical transport planning documents including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Environmental Statement Chapters
Manage smaller to medium-sized projects from inception through to delivery.
Build and run junction modelling using Junctions 10 and LinSig software.
Liaise with clients, Highway Authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support negotiations and attend external meetings with stakeholders.
Assist with fee proposals, budget management, and business development activities.
Contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of development projects.
Requirements
3–8 years’ experience within transport planning.
Strong understanding of transport planning principles and development planning.
Experience using Junctions 10 and LinSig software.
Knowledge of: Manual for Streets (MfS), DMRB, LTN1/20, Active Travel England requirements, Healthy Streets principles
Excellent project management, technical writing and presentational skills.
Professional membership with TPS, CIHT, or CILT (or working towards).
