How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Systems Engineer

    Location: Whitstable
    Job Type: Full-time

    Working Hours:
    Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts typically between 07:00 and 19:00, with occasional weekend work.

    Role Overview

    Seeking a Systems Engineer to carry out installations, construction, and builds of workshop-based security systems, including access control, wireless systems, CCTV, ARC, and SICS units. The role involves both workshop and site-based work, working independently and alongside other engineers while ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.

    ResponsibilitiesTechnical

    * Assist with the build, manufacture, and configuration of IP, HDTVI, CCTV, access control systems, and wireless infrastructures.

    * Support work on ARC and SICS units for workshop and site projects.

    * Analyse, troubleshoot, and configure control panels, cameras, and associated equipment.

    Operational

    * Follow goods-in procedures.

    * Support and maintain quality control procedures.

    * Assist with installations and deployments.

    General

    * Contribute to team tasks and support colleagues where required.

    Requirements Preferred

    * Experience as a Security Systems Engineer.

    * Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and wireless systems.

    * Understanding of DVR and NVR systems.

    * Experience with data cabling and terminations.

    * Networking experience in IP systems.

    * IPAF certification.

    * Health and safety qualification.

    * NRSWA certification.

    * ECS card.

    Essential

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    * Analytical problem-solving ability with commercial awareness.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    * Ability to work independently and use initiative.

    Salary: £27,000 – £35,000 per year
