How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy on a major NHS digital programme and are looking for two experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to join a high-performing engineering team. You will play a senior role in the design and delivery of modern, scalable web applications, bringing strong full stack expertise across Next.js, TypeScript, and AWS in a programme delivering meaningful impact across NHS services nationwide.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design and build high-quality, scalable full stack applications using Next.js and TypeScript
    Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, following well-architected and security best practices
    Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, reliability, and security standards are met
    Write and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright as part of the development workflow
    Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering standards alongside the Technical Architect
    Carry out thorough code reviews, championing quality and best practice across the team
    Work within CI/CD pipelines, contributing to automated build, test, and deployment processes
    Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and product owners
    Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, test, and live environments

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    NHS or government experience is essential - candidates without this will not be considered
    Strong, demonstrable senior-level full stack development experience on complex programmes
    Proficient in Next.js and TypeScript across both front end and back end development
    Solid AWS experience across core services including Lambda, S3, EC2, and RDS
    Proven REST API design and development experience
    Experience writing automated tests using Playwright
    Comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment
    Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical teams
    Able to work remotely and independently with occasional travel to London
