How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sales Executive - Freight & Logistics

    Manchester | Full Time | £32,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    We're currently partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing logistics organisation to recruit an ambitious Sales Executive for their Manchester-based commercial team.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected business operating within the international freight and logistics sector, supporting freight forwarders and supply chain partners across the UK and overseas.     The Role

    As Sales Executive, you'll play a key role in driving business growth across wholesale freight and logistics services, including air freight, imports, exports, and express solutions.

    You'll be responsible for managing and developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring the business remains a preferred logistics partner within the market.

    This is a relationship-led sales role with a strong focus on account management, networking, and commercial growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
    Develop new business opportunities within the freight forwarding and logistics sector
    Manage and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts
    Conduct regular client meetings both virtually and face-to-face
    Identify and target potential growth accounts and market opportunities
    Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements where required
    Manage your own sales pipeline and activity levels to achieve KPIs
    Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
    Provide regular sales reporting and pipeline updates
    Work collaboratively with operations, customer service, and finance teams
    Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, and exhibitions
    Contribute ideas towards marketing initiatives, social media activity, and brand development

    What We're Looking For

    Experience & Background

    Proven experience in sales within freight forwarding, logistics, or cargo services
    Strong understanding of international freight operations
    Experience developing new business and managing customer accounts
    Commercial awareness and confidence negotiating with customers

    Skills & Attributes

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales
    Strong organisational and time-management abilities
    Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
