How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Help tell the story behind the projects that shape tomorrow’s built environment. At Morson Praxis, we’re the technical consultancy that actually delivers what it designs and behind every successful project is a compelling, well-crafted proposal that wins the work.
We’re looking for a Junior Bid Writer to join our growing team and support the development of tender submissions across infrastructure, energy, defence and public sector programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in bid writing and business development within a fast-paced, technical consultancy environment.
If you enjoy writing, working with technical information and helping teams communicate their expertise clearly, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a Junior Bid Writer to support the preparation of high-quality tender submissions.
Based at our head office, you’ll work closely with the Bid Manager and technical teams across the business, with hybrid flexibility once established in the role.
    Who We Are
At Morson Praxis, we deliver engineering and technical consultancy that supports the development and delivery of major projects across infrastructure, energy, defence and the wider built environment.
As part of the Morson Group, we combine specialist expertise with the scale and reach of a leading technical organisation. Our teams work with government bodies, local authorities, infrastructure providers and construction partners to deliver complex, high-impact projects.
Our bid team plays a vital role in securing this work, collaborating with engineers, project managers and subject matter experts to produce clear, compelling and competitive proposals.
    What You’ll Do
As a Junior Bid Writer, you will support the development of structured, high-quality bid submissions, including:
    * Writing clear, structured responses to client tender questions, communicating technical approaches and experience
    * Interpreting public sector and commercial tender documentation and translating requirements into written responses
    * Working closely with the Bid Manager and technical teams to gather and understand key information
    * Writing and editing proposal content, case studies and capability statements
    * Supporting submissions for framework agreements, public sector tenders and infrastructure opportunities
    * Reviewing and improving existing bid content to ensure clarity, quality and consistency
    * Assisting with the coordination of documentation required for tender submissions
    * Ensuring all submissions are compliant with client requirements and tender specifications
    * Supporting pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and associated documentation
    * Maintaining and developing a library of bid materials and company information
    What You’ll Gain
Starting your career at Morson Praxis will give you valuable exposure to how major engineering and infrastructure projects are secured.
    In this role, you’ll:
    * Develop professional bid writing and proposal development skills
    * Learn how organisations win work through competitive tendering
    * Work closely with engineers, project managers and technical specialists
    * Build strong writing, editing and communication skills
    * Gain exposure to major projects across multiple sectors
This role provides a strong foundation for progression into Senior Bid Writer, Bid Manager or Business Development roles.
    What We’re Looking For
    Essential
    * Excellent written communication and editing skills
    * Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    * Ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearly
    * Strong organisational and time-management skills
    * Ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines
    * Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint
    Desirable
    * Experience in bid writing, proposals, marketing or technical writing
    * Degree in English, Business, Marketing, Communications or similar
    * Experience working with public sector tenders or structured documentation
    * Interest in engineering, infrastructure or technical consultancy
