How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client are a leading manufacturer based near Huddersfield. Due to continued growth they wish to appoint a Supplier Quality Engineer. The appointed candidate will have a practical understanding of generic quality principles and must have experience working within a supplier quality focused role for a manufacturing business. Within this role there will be occasional travel to visit suppliers in order to build stable relationships and the opportunity to develop processes and new ways of working.     Supplier Quality Engineer - Role & Responsibilities - Quality Engineer / PPAP / Supply Chain / Audits / Supplier Development / Lean

    * Contribute supplier development and process improvements plans, audits and performance management
    * Leading the relocation of parts from one supplier to another, providing overall project management of the component transfers to a suitable conclusion
    * Working with suppliers to develop a robust improvement plan
    * Conduct system/process audits both internally and at potential and existing suppliers
    * Liaise with suppliers and other team members to resolve problems and manage all quality related issues within the manufacturing team
    * Conduct quality defect investigations and use route cause analysis to prevent any re occurrences of fault
    * Work with manufacturing and design on DFM procedures to improve production cycle time

    Supplier Quality Engineer - Skills & Abilities - Quality Engineer / PPAP / Supply Chain / Audits / Supplier Development / Lean

    * Minimum of one years' experience in a supply quality focused position
    * Personable and flexible, with a commercial outlook
    * Strong people and supplier management skills with a keen eye for detail
