How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently recruiting for a Care and Support Worker to join our client North Yorkshire Council in Northallerton.

    Job Role:

    We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to provide 2:1 care and support for a young person during a temporary placement in Northallerton.

    This role requires individuals who are confident supporting children and young people who may experience emotional dysregulation and who can provide a calm, safe, and structured environment.

    Responsibilities of a Support Worker:

    * Provide high-quality 2:1 support in a safe and nurturing environment

    * Support the young person with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in activities.

    * Escort and transport the young person to and from school (taxi transport provided to school).

    * Administer medication in line with training and care plans.

    * Promote safety by ensuring potentially harmful items are stored securely.

    * Encourage positive engagement through activities and interests.

    * Maintain professional boundaries while building positive and respectful relationships.

    * Accurately record and report observations, incidents, and daily updates.

    Working hours for Support worker: 07.00 - 23.00

    Requirements of a Support Worker:

    * Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviours or emotional dysregulation.

    * TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) training is essential.

    * At least one staff member on shift must hold:

    1. A full clean UK driving licence

    2. Access to a vehicle

    * Medication training required.

    * Calm, patient, and resilient approach.

    * Ability to work within safeguarding and risk management procedures.
