How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HR Advisor
    Location: Lichfield/Hybrid Team: HR Operations
    Join our HR team and make a real difference
    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our HR Operations Team. This is a key role within the function, offering the chance to support managers and colleagues across the organisation while delivering a high‑quality, professional HR service.
    Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted first point of contact for HR advice, playing a vital role in ensuring our people processes run smoothly and compliantly in a fast‑paced, growing organisation.
    What you’ll be doing
    As an HR Advisor, your role will be varied, hands‑on and impactful. You will:
    Provide clear, practical HR advice to managers and colleagues via phone and email
    Deliver core operational HR processes, including:
    Payroll and contractual changes
    Family‑friendly leave
    References, right to work checks and DBS/criminal record checks
    Professional registrations and benefits administration
    Skilled Worker sponsorship processes
    Ensure compliance with employment legislation, CQC standards and Home Office requirements
    Manage and resolve HR queries efficiently, escalating complex matters when required
    Support the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and processes
    Contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives within a supportive HR team
    What we’re looking for
    We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and proactive, with:
    Previous experience in a generalist HR role
    A good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
    Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
    The ability to manage a varied workload in a busy environment
    Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
    Experience in the care sector and knowledge of regulatory compliance (including right to work and sponsorship processes) would be an advantage
