How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HLTA - Secondary Schools (Rhondda Cynon Taf)
    September Start | £100-£130 per day
    Aspire People are currently recruiting an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across Secondary schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for an HLTA looking for a full-time or long-term role, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    This role would suit an HLTA with experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEN and/or challenging behaviour, who is confident working in a fast-paced Secondary school environment.

    The Role
    As an HLTA in a Secondary school, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Responsibilities may include:

    Supporting the delivery of learning in classes across KS3 and KS4
    Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
    Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support academic progress
    Supporting pupils with ALN/SEN, behavioural needs or emotional regulation
    Assisting with classroom behaviour management and engagement
    Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

    HLTAs in Secondary schools are often used to provide higher-level classroom support, cover lessons when required, and help ensure continuity of learning throughout the school day.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have

    HLTA qualification or substantial experience working at HLTA level
    Experience working within Secondary schools
    Confidence supporting whole classes and leading learning when required
    Experience working with ALN/SEN and/or challenging behaviour (desirable)
    Strong behaviour management and communication skills
    A positive, flexible and proactive approach

    What We Offer

    Daily pay between £100 and £130, depending on experience
    September start roles in well-supported Secondary schools across RCT
    Ongoing support from a dedicated Secondary consultant
    Opportunities for long-term and permanent placements

    Requirements

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
    Right to work in the UK
    Suitable references covering recent experience
