How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools (Manchester)

    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent

    About the Role:
    Aspire People is seeking enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to join our primary school network in Manchester as SEN Teaching Assistants. Whether you are about to graduate or have graduated in the last few years, we are looking for motivated individuals who want to gain professional experience working with children with additional needs, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.

    You will be supporting children across a range of year groups, from EYFS to Year 6, helping them access their learning and thrive in the classroom. You may also have opportunities to cover PPA sessions, with support from the school to build your skills in this area.

    This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a school setting, whether you are looking for placements, professional development, or long-term career progression in educational psychology or SEN support.

    Who We're Looking For:
    * UK-based Psychology Graduates, including:
    o Bachelors in Psychology
    o Educational Psychology
    o Bachelor's degrees related to Education
    * Passionate about supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
    * Experience (academic, voluntary, or professional) of working with children is desirable but not essential
    * Ability to work across multiple year groups (EYFS-Y6)
    * Flexible and eager to take on PPA cover duties as trained
    * DBS on the Update Service
    * References from the last 2 years
