How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Looking for a Design and Technology Teacher in Sheffield!

    Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

    Location: Sheffield

    Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

    Start Date: Immediate

    Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

    GSL Education are looking for talented and motivated Design and Technology Teachers to work in schools across Sheffield.

    As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to think creatively, solve problems practically, and develop a broad understanding of design principles and manufacturing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to bring DT to life for the next generation.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan and deliver stimulating Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
    Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to support KS5 where applicable
    Guide students through design processes, from initial concept through to finished product
    Assess student work consistently and provide constructive, developmental feedback
    Manage workshop and classroom environments safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines
    Differentiate teaching to engage and challenge students across all ability ranges
    Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development
    Foster creativity, independent thinking, and technical skill in every lesson
    Requirements:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
    A degree in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
    Experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting is desirable
    Sound knowledge of design processes, materials, and practical techniques
    Strong classroom and workshop management skills
    An enthusiastic, student-centred approach to teaching and learning
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application)
