How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) - Kingston - September 2026 Start

    Full-Time | £27,000 - £37,000 | Supportive SEN College Environment

    Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs?

    Here at Academics, we are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic specialist college in Kingston that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive, and resilient Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join their team on a full-time basis.

    The college is based in Kingston and is easily accessible via excellent public transport links from surrounding London boroughs and Surrey areas.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a nurturing and inclusive environment where therapy is embedded throughout the curriculum and where every member of staff plays a vital role in supporting students to achieve independence, confidence, and long-term success.

    The Role

    As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will support students with a wide range of communication and interaction needs, including:

    Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
    Learning disabilities
    Speech, language, and communication difficulties
    Complex additional needsKey Responsibilities

    Assessing students' speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs
    Planning and delivering individual and group therapy sessions
    Developing personalised therapy programmes and communication strategies
    Supporting students with AAC and total communication approaches
    Contributing to EHCP reviews and multidisciplinary meetingsThe ideal candidate will be:

    A qualified Speech and Language Therapist
    HCPC registered
    Passionate about supporting young people with SEN
    Experienced in, or keen to develop experience within, autism and learning disabilities
    A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
