How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity within a highly technical industrial and engineering environment based in Oxfordshire.

    This role offers the chance to work on complex electrical systems, plant upgrades, maintenance projects, and engineering improvements within a large-scale operational facility.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will provide electrical engineering support across a range of operational and project activities. You will be involved in electrical design support, fault investigation, commissioning, maintenance planning, and technical problem solving within a safety-critical environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support electrical engineering and maintenance activities across site
    Provide technical expertise for electrical systems and infrastructure
    Assist with design reviews, modifications, and upgrades
    Carry out fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical equipment
    Support commissioning and testing activities
    Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
    Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and safe systems of work
    Liaise with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractors
    Contribute to project delivery and operational reliability improvements

    Requirements

    Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
    Proven experience within industrial, manufacturing, process, or engineering environments
    Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and control systems
    Experience with industrial plant equipment and maintenance practices
    Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
    Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and safety standards
    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

    Desirable Experience

    Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical environments
    HV/LV systems experience
    PLC, instrumentation, or control systems knowledge
    Commissioning or project engineering experience
    Previous experience on large industrial or research facilities
