How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer
    Location: Central London (Solihull and Leeds positions also available)
    Salary: Competitive + Benefits
    Working Pattern: Full-time, 36.25 hours (Agile / Hybrid)
     
    The Opportunity
    An established and forward-thinking building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team across multiple UK locations.
    This is a design-led, client-facing role offering genuine autonomy, technical ownership, and the opportunity to work on high-profile, sustainability-driven projects across sectors including healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and industrial.
    You will play a key role in delivering innovative electrical MEP solutions while contributing to a business committed to net-zero carbon and low-energy design.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Lead electrical design delivery on a range of building services projects
    Act as Project Lead on selected schemes, managing timelines and technical outputs
    Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams on complex developments
    Attend client meetings and deliver technical presentations
    Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
    Produce and review electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications
    Ensure compliance with relevant UK and European standards and regulations
    Contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team
    Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business
    About You

    Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering (or HNC/HND with strong design experience)
    Working towards or holding Chartered status (CIBSE / IET)
    Minimum 3+ years’ experience in electrical building services design
    Proficient in industry software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Revit, and Microsoft Office
    Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and electrical infrastructure design
    Experience with renewable technologies and embedded generation
    Understanding of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
    Familiarity with HTMs (desirable)
    Excellent communication skills with a client-facing mindset
    Ability to manage workload independently and meet project deadlines
