How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role Overview

    My client is seeking an Operational Risk Analyst to join the Global Markets Operations function, supporting day‑to‑day BAU operational risk management across front‑to‑back markets processes.

    This role sits close to the business and is highly hands‑on, focusing on risk identification, control oversight, audit engagement, and governance discipline within a fast‑paced investment banking environment.

    The successful candidate will bring strong operational risk knowledge, a solid understanding of Global Markets operations, and confidence operating in a control‑driven, audit‑focused environment. Experience with formal issue management frameworks is desirable but not essential.

    You will be office based in Chester 3 days a week, 2 days working from home, standard office hours Monday to Friday with the occasional out of hours requirement in line with business needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support BAU operational risk activities within Global Markets Operations, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, documented, and appropriately escalated
    Act as a first point of contact for audit and regulatory requests, coordinating responses and ensuring timely, high‑quality submissions
    Ensure teams save down evidence correctly, maintain audit trails, and adhere to governance standards
    Maintain and oversee process and control documentation, including process inventories and risk assessments
    Monitor and support remediation of control gaps, issues, and risk events, working closely with operations and control partners
    Partner with Audit, Compliance, and Operational Risk stakeholders to address findings, themes, and emerging risks
    Produce and maintain risk reporting, trackers, and logs, providing clear visibility of status and actions
    Embed a strong risk and control mindset across Global Markets operational processes

    Required Experience & Skills

    Strong Operational Risk experience within a regulated financial services environment
    Demonstrable experience within Investment Banking or Global Markets Operations (e.g. collateral, settlements, reconciliations, onboarding, trade support, derivatives operations)
    Working knowledge of controls, risk identification, audit support, and governance requirements
    Experience responding to audit / regulatory requests and coordinating evidence collection
    High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple BAU priorities in parallel
    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable working with senior operations teamsDesirable

    Exposure to issue management, remediation tracking, or use of formal issue / action management frameworks
    Familiarity with process inventories (e.g. SPI), control maps, or risk & control self‑assessments
    Experience working closely with 2LoD Operational Risk or Compliance teams
