How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking an experienced CQC Registered Manager to lead and develop a domiciliary care service, ensuring the safe, effective and compliant delivery of care to people in their own homes.

The Registered Manager will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring it meets CQC requirements, contractual obligations, safeguarding duties and the expectations of people using the service, families, commissioners and local authorities.

The successful candidate must have excellent knowledge of CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, and the current CQC assessment framework.

    Purpose of the Role

To provide strong leadership, operational management and regulatory oversight of the domiciliary care service, ensuring that care is person-centred, safe, well-led and fully compliant with CQC expectations.

The Registered Manager will be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring the service remains inspection-ready at all times.

    Key Responsibilities

    CQC Compliance and Governance

Ensure the service operates in full compliance with CQC regulations, including the fundamental standards and all relevant regulated activity requirements.

Maintain effective governance systems in line with Regulation 17, including audits, quality assurance processes, risk monitoring, action plans and evidence of continuous improvement.

Ensure the service is prepared for CQC assessment under the current framework, including the five key questions, quality statements and evidence categories.

Maintain evidence across CQC’s evidence categories, including people’s experience of care, feedback from staff and leaders, feedback from partners, observation, processes and outcomes.

Ensure all CQC notifications are submitted accurately and within required timescales.

Keep policies, procedures and records up to date and ensure they are embedded into daily practice.

    Quality Assurance and Audits

Develop and maintain a robust audit schedule covering care plans, risk assessments, medication, safeguarding, incidents, complaints, staff files, training, supervision and spot checks.

Analyse audit findings and ensure action plans are completed within agreed timescales.

Use quality data, feedback and outcomes to identify trends, reduce risk and improve service delivery.

Ensure accurate records are maintained and available as evidence for CQC, commissioners and internal governance reviews.

    Care Delivery and Risk Management

Ensure all care packages are assessed, planned, reviewed and delivered safely.

Oversee person-centred care planning, risk assessments and outcomes-focused support.

Ensure care is delivered in line with individual needs, preferences, capacity, consent and safeguarding requirements.

Respond promptly to incidents, concerns, complaints and safeguarding matters.

Ensure lessons learned are shared with the team and embedded into practice.

    Leadership and Staff Management

Lead, support and develop the care team, including care coordinators, field care supervisors and care workers.

Ensure safe recruitment, induction, training, supervision and appraisal processes are followed.

Maintain staff compliance, including DBS, right to work, references, mandatory training, competency assessments and ongoing development.

Promote a positive, professional and accountable culture.

Manage performance issues promptly and fairly.

    Operational Management

Oversee rota management and ensure safe staffing levels are maintained.

Ensure care calls are delivered on time and missed or late calls are identified, investigated and resolved.

Work closely with care coordinators and supervisors to ensure continuity of care.

Monitor service performance, KPIs, complaints, incidents and commissioner feedback.

Ensure effective communication with people using the service, families, staff, social workers, commissioners and healthcare professionals.

    Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, hospital discharge teams, social workers and other referral partners.

Support the growth of the service by maintaining high standards, responding to referrals and ensuring new packages are safely assessed and mobilised.

Represent the service professionally in meetings, reviews and commissioner discussions
