How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Organise and coordinate external contractors for servicing, repairs, and compliance work

    * Carry out general site and facilities upkeep to ensure a safe and efficient working environment

    * Assist with mechanical maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment

    * Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems

    * Carry out facilities-related checks including PAT testing, fire extinguisher inspections, smoke alarm testing, and general building maintenance

    * Support machinery investigations, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability improvements

    * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility

    * Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and process improvement projects

    * Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with health & safety standards

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    * Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding ability

    * Experience carrying out PPM schedules and coordinating maintenance activities

    * Apprentice trained, NVQ qualified, time served, or City & Guilds qualified within an engineering discipline

    * A proactive mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and machinery optimisation

    * Ability to organise contractors and manage general site upkeep activities

    * Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics

    * Strong practical problem-solving skills

    * Good communication and organisational abilities

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team

    DESIRABLE

    * Basic machining skills including lathe, milling, or drilling machine experience

    * Experience supporting CI projects, root cause investigations, or machinery improvement activities
