How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical & Electrical Estimator (Utilities / Water Industry)

    Bridgwater, Somerset - Flexible Working Arrangements

    Are you an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Estimator looking to work on one of the UK's most prestigious engineering projects while developing your technical expertise across the wider utilities sector?

    Do you have experience within the utility or process sector and want to work for a Tier 1 contractor who can offer you long term job security and great benefits?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor working on the Hinkley Point C project, where you will play a key role in delivering large-scale mechanical and electrical packages within the water and utilities sector.

    Alongside working on a nationally significant project, you will receive ongoing technical development and long-term career progression opportunities across a variety of major utilities and infrastructure projects.

    This role would suit an experienced M&E Estimator within the process or utility sector who is looking to step up into their career and work on leading engineering projects where they can massively develop their skills and experience.

    The Role:

    * Prepare accurate M&E estimates from tender documentation while supporting design, costing, and project decisions.
    * Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, support commercial activities, and mentor junior team members.
