How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Quantity Surveyor Bristol (Regional Commercial Contracting SME) Salary up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a thriving, growing regional main contractor where your commercial expertise will directly shape exciting projects and career progression?

Our client is a well-established and expanding SME commercial contracting business based in Bristol, delivering high-quality building and fit-out projects across the South West. Known for their collaborative culture, repeat business, and strong pipeline of work, they are now scaling their commercial team following a very successful placement we made at the end of 2025.

Due to continued growth and our exclusive recruitment partnership, we are delighted to be representing them again in the search for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit commercial team.

    Key Responsibilities:

Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Prepare and manage tenders, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and budgets.
Carry out cost control, value engineering, risk management, and variation assessment.
Produce monthly CVR reports, cashflow forecasts, and financial updates for project and senior management.
Liaise closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients, and designers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Negotiate and agree subcontractor packages, interim valuations, and final accounts.
Support the commercial team in driving profitability and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
    About You:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a main contractor or commercial fit-out specialist (regional/SME experience highly desirable).
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing projects profitably.
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) and/or working towards / hold MRICS (advantageous but not essential).
Full UK driving licence (essential due to site travel in the region).
Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a growing, supportive SME environment.
    What’s on Offer:

Competitive salary up to £60,000 (dependent on experience).
Car allowance (or company vehicle option in some cases).
Pension scheme, private healthcare options, and performance-related bonus potential.
25+ days holiday + bank holidays.
Genuine career development in a business that invests in its people.
Opportunity to work on varied, interesting regional projects with long-term clients.

This is a fantastic chance to join a stable yet ambitious contractor at an exciting stage of growth, where your contribution will be truly valued and visible.

If you're based in or around Bristol / the South West and ready for your next career move, we'd love to hear from you.
