About the Role
Reporting to the Construction Lead and operating within the pre‑construction team, the role supports the development of robust construction sequences for Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEHA) scopes. The postholder will define installation methodologies, establish construction logic, and ensure alignment between construction planning, programme constraints and site execution. The role provides a structured baseline plan to support safe, effective and optimised installation activities during the construction phase of a nuclear power project.
Key Accountabilities
*
Develop and validate construction sequences and installation methodologies for MEHA scopes, ensuring integration with overall Nuclear Island construction activities.
*
Proactively engage with key stakeholders (construction, civil, equipment, programme and engineering teams) to define efficient and realistic installation logic.
*
Lead and contribute to constructability reviews, providing clear guidance to inform construction scheduling and site execution strategies.
*
Transfer EPR Lessons Learned Experience (LFE) relevant to MEHA pre‑construction, promoting best practice, productivity improvement and sequence optimisation.
*
Advise on construction norms, productivity benchmarks and execution strategies, ensuring compliance with nuclear quality expectations.
*
Work closely with planning teams to capture programme constraints, provide detailed activity breakdowns, and clearly articulate the path to installation.
*
Communicate construction plans effectively to internal teams and wider project stakeholders to maintain alignment with the overall project schedule.
*
Establish and maintain a baseline construction plan against which progress, variations and performance can be assessed during installation.
*
Support adherence to the agreed plan throughout the installation phase, enabling effective control and continuous improvement.
*
Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support project delivery.
Here's What You'll Need
*
Mandatory experience on an EPR project (e.g. Taishan, Olkiluoto 3, Flamanville 3, Hinkley Point C).
*
Proven track record in developing construction sequences within highly complex, regulated environments, ideally in the Nuclear Energy sector.
*
Demonstrated experience in constructability reviews and drafting detailed construction methodology statements.
*
Strong understanding of engineering design, contract strategy and field execution within large capital projects.
*
Experience working on multi‑discipline EPCM projects.
*
Proven ability to effectively engage, influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups.
*
Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and organisational skills.
*
Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving capability.
Desirable
*
Detailed understanding of PWR design and operational experience.
*
Degree with chartered status in engineering, construction, physics or a related discipline.
*
Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
*
Strong understanding of nuclear quality requirements, assurance processes and compliance controls
