How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

In order to verify complex systems, you need reliable test solutions.

The role of the Test Equipment Definition team is to specify, deliver and support a variety of test equipment used throughout the development lifecycle of those complex systems, be it a manual switch box used for hardware testing, a fully-automated test solution to support high-rate manufacturing test, or a complex software-defined simulator developed to be used within a systems integration environment.

The TE definition team act as requirements authority for a wide variety of simulators, emulators and Test Equipment, designed to support programmes during their development, integration, qualification, manufacturing and through-life support phases.

This is a varied role, requiring strong systems engineering knowledge and an ability to co-ordinate and negotiate requirements with a number of disparate stakeholders. As a work package manager, you will also be responsible for acceptance of our test solutions from their manufacturer and delivery into programmes, and as such will have to balance cost, schedule and quality.

MBDA is a large engineering organisation that takes a disciplined approach to product development and test in order to maintain our market leading reputation in Missiles and Missile Systems. Through our test and testability policy, we ensure robustness in the test and data analysis regime during the development, integration, manufacturing and in-service phases of our product lifecycles, and across an ever-increasing portfolio of projects.

The Test Equipment and Testability team's mission is to:
Establish world-class Test Solutions, Environment Simulators and Emulators for use internally to MBDA as well as by our Customer's Armed Forces
Contribute to MBDA's international Weapon System Test Equipment Strategy, balancing the need for technology re-use with the need to exploit emerging technology trends
Apply the Weapon System Test Equipment and Testability Strategies to all new programmes, as well as through-life enhancement upgrades. If you have a practical mind and you are able to apply logic in challenging or complex situations, then this role could be for you. Candidates do not necessarily need to have an engineering test background to be successful in this role.

What we're looking for from you:

As a Definition Lead, you should be able to demonstrate your ability to:
Define clear requirements and acceptance criteria
    Develop and understand interface specifications
Understand and contribute to the key activities in the engineering development lifecycle
Manage schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned work packages
Work within a multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc...)
Understand the benefits of re-use versus new development
Capture transversal engineering stakeholder needs (e.g. Safety, Cyber, Human Factors, Customer Support Services, etc)In addition, as your knowledge and experience grows, you may be expected to:
    Run peer and design reviews
Limit technical risks through application of mitigation strategies
Grow your professional network through our multi-national defence organisationOur company: Peace is not a given, Freedom is not a given, Sovereignty is not a given

MBDA is a leading defence organisation. We are proud of the role we play in supporting the Armed Forces who protect our nations. We partner with governments to work together towards a common goal, defending our freedom.

We are proud of our employee-led networks, examples include: Gender Equality, Pride, Menopause Matters, Parents and Carers, Armed Forces, Ethnic Diversity, Neurodiversity, Disability and more
