How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a proven quantity surveying professional to join a £multi‑billion transformation programme in Essex. This role is ideally suited to professionals who have successfully delivered complex construction projects within live operational environments, with project values in the region of £100 million.

    You will play a pivotal role in supporting the programme through its delivery phase-from advanced enabling works through to construction and fit-out-ensuring seamless integration with wider programme objectives and live operations. The programme is being delivered under the NEC form of contract, requiring strong commercial, delivery, and stakeholder management expertise.

    This opportunity is perfect for candidates with experience in major rail station upgrades, airport projects, large regeneration schemes, or stadium developments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Administering NEC contracts, with a strong focus on claims management
    Managing a tier 1 contractor for the a major transformation programme
    Overseeing and delivering large-scale capex programmes, approximately £100million
    Ensuring contractual compliance and effective cost control
    Preparing detailed reports and providing strategic advice to senior management

    Job Requirements:

    Proven experience in Quantity Surveying, with a significant post-graduate track record
    Strong expertise in NEC contract administration
    Experience in claims management and negotiations
    Background in managing large-scale construction programmes
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
