How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Receptionist

    Orchard Health Centre is looking for a professional, friendly and highly organised part-time (16 hours) Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our team.

    This is a key front‑of‑house role, providing the first point of contact for patients, visitors, staff and external partners. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a busy environment and take pride in delivering excellent service, we’d love to hear from you.

    The Orchard Health Centre is based in Banbury, North Oxfordshire. There are many services based within the building including Dental, Sexual Health, CAMHS, Health Visitors, Children's Community Nurses and School Nurses.

    Main duties of the job

    As the face of Orchard Health Centre, you will:

    *

    Provide a warm, welcoming and professional reception service to all patients, parents/carers, visitors, NHS colleagues and external contractors.

    *

    Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries, both in person and via telephone and email, ensuring queries are handled efficiently and signposted to the correct department.

    *

    Operate the main switchboard, transferring calls, taking accurate messages and ensuring information is relayed promptly and appropriately.

    *

    Retrieve and manage voicemail messages from the main switchboard, responding or forwarding as required.

    *

    Maintain high standards of general office administration, ensuring departmental documents are accurate and up to date.

    *

    Support the Centre Co‑ordinator with daily operational tasks, such as fire alarm testing and liaising with contractors.

    *

    Manage room bookings and ensure smooth coordination of space within the building.
