How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Receptionist

    Orchard Health Centre, Banbury, is looking for two part time receptionists for the Main Reception, who can prioritise work load and have plenty of initiative. Orchard Health Centre is based in Banbury, North Oxfordshire. There are many services based within the building including Dental, Sexual Health, CAMHS, Health Visitors, Children's Community Nurses and School Nurses. The receptionist will be supporting these services and operations related to the building.

    Two part-time roles each working 12 hours per week.

    Interviews will be held at Orchard Health Centre, Banbury OX16 2EZ

    Main duties of the job

    To provide a professional, effective and efficient reception and as required/requested administrative support to Orchard Health Centre. To be the first point of contact, to welcome patients, parents/carers, visitors and members of the public to Orchard Health Centre, as well as staff from other NHS trusts and external contractors, and to respond to all queries. Directing patients to relevant departments as required.

    Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    * To present a welcoming first point of contact for the building.

    * To deal with queries from patients, visitors, members of the public and staff (trust, other NHS trusts, and other external agencies) face to face, by phone and email – signpost to appropriate department for clinical/further information.

    * To operate the main switchboard, relay calls to the relevant department. Take messages where necessary and relay to correct department, either verbally or by email. Ensure given information to all callers is correct and to those that need directing, to other departments, outside of the health centre. Retrieve voicemail messages from the main switchboard and deal with, as necessary. To answer incoming telephone calls and respond in a timely manner.

    * To provide a high standard of general office duties, ensuring all department documents are kept up to date.

    * To support the Co-ordinator on a daily basis, such as testing of the fire alarm, dealing with contractors.

    * To deal with room bookings.

    * Qualification to NVQ Level 3 and/or previous experience in an administrative/reception role

    * Experience of communicating effectively at all levels with a variety of contacts

    * Relevant administrative experience

    * Awareness of health & safety issues within the building

    * Ability to work effectively with intermittent interruptions/enquiries

    * Previous NHS experience

    * To answer calls and communicate confidently

    * Flexible approach to providing cover for annual leave, sickness and emergency cover, sometimes at short notice
