How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Plant Maintenance Technician / Norwich / £33,280 - £41,600

    Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our client's engineering team to maintain the plant on site and service engineering factory machinery, workshop equipment, fleet vehicles, cranes.

    Full-time, permanent position Monday to Friday (40hours)

    As a Plant Maintenance Technician, You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the maintenance department by keeping the company’s machinery, vehicles, and plant equipment in reliable working order. The role requires a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing tasks efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults across a diverse fleet of plant machinery, workshop equipment, and commercial vehicles.

    * Carry out reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and keep operations running efficiently.

    * Source and order cost-effective replacement parts, liaising with suppliers and manufacturers when required.

    * Repair and replace damaged or worn components in line with manufacturer standards, current regulations, and safe working practices.

    * Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and repair records across all assets.

    * Manage stock levels of workshop consumables and essential maintenance supplies.

    * Prepare company vehicles, including LGVs and HGVs, for MOT inspections and compliance checks.

    * Attend site breakdowns to fault-find and repair machinery and vehicles as required.

    * Conduct PAT testing and routine emergency lighting inspections in line with legislation.

    * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, COSHH regulations, risk assessments, and health & safety standards.

    Candidates will have previous experience within a manufacturing, automotive, or mechanical engineering environment, alongside relevant engineering qualifications and a strong hands-on maintenance background.
