How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEND Teaching Assistant – Make a Real Difference

    The Role

    This isn’t just any teaching assistant job. This is a chance to change lives. You’ll be working in a highly supportive, inclusive village school with an OFSTED Outstanding rating, where the headteacher, teachers, and staff all work together to truly make an impact.

    * Location: Swadlincote (Village School, OFSTED Outstanding)

    * Position: Full-Time (Term-Time Only)

    * Contract: Permanent

    * Salary: £21,550 - £21,000

    * Start Date: ASAP

    Your role? To support children with special educational needs—emotionally, socially, and academically. You’ll be right there with them in sensory rooms, specialist therapy spaces, and alongside experienced support workers and professionals who share your passion for making a difference.

    Why This School?

    * Supportive leadership – The headteacher and staff are all about collaboration. You won’t be left figuring things out alone.

    * Specialist facilities – From sensory rooms to therapy spaces, the school is designed to help children thrive.

    * A strong team – Work alongside support workers, therapists, and other professionals, all focused on improving the well-being of every child.

    * Long-term security – This isn’t a temp role. It’s a permanent position where you can grow and develop.

    What We Need from You

    We are looking for someone who is passionate, patient, and committed to making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will be working closely with a dedicated team to improve the social, emotional, and educational well-being of the students. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive approach to challenges, and the ability to engage with children in a way that builds trust and encourages progress.

    The Interview Process

    You will meet with the headteacher for a relaxed, professional conversation about your experience, your approach to supporting children, and how you can contribute to the school’s vision. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and see if this is the right fit for you.

    Ready to Make a Difference?

    This is more than a job—it’s a role where you’ll see real progress, work with an outstanding team, and help shape young lives.
