How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a role for someone with a holistic approach, who understands that children learn best when they feel supported not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.

What is a Nurture Teaching Assistant?

A Nurture Teaching Assistant is more than classroom support – it’s about creating an environment where children can feel confident, calm, and ready to engage. These roles are designed for children who may struggle in larger, mainstream settings and need a more personal, encouraging approach.

    In this role, you will:

    * Work with small groups and sometimes on a 1:1 basis, helping children feel safe and understood

    * Support children with a mix of primary and secondary ages, guiding them at their level

    * Blend elements of the curriculum with activities that focus on confidence, communication, and life skills

    * Bring creativity and calm, adapting your approach to match the children’s needs each day

    * Be a positive role model who celebrates progress and helps children shine in their own way

The children you’ll support may face challenges with confidence, anxiety, social skills, or self-esteem. Many are bright and capable, but just need someone who can help them believe in themselves again.

    About the Role

Every day as a Nurture TA is different. You might be:

    * Helping a small group through a gentle literacy or numeracy activity

    * Supporting children outdoors with forest school-style learning

    * Encouraging teamwork through practical, creative projects

    * Providing calm reassurance when emotions feel overwhelming

    * Building children’s confidence so they feel ready to take the next step in both education and daily life

This is a role where patience, creativity, and encouragement matter more than rigid structure. It’s about meeting children where they are, and helping them take steps forward in ways that work for them.

    Who We’re Looking For

    The ideal candidate will be:

    * Holistic in approach – seeing the whole child, not just their academic needs

    * Experienced in working with small groups and building relationships over time

    * Calm, encouraging, and adaptable, with the ability to turn challenges into opportunities for growth

    * From a background such as forest school, teaching assistant, youth work, or childcare, with transferable skills that support children’s confidence and wellbeing

    * Passionate about helping children build not only their education, but their self-belief and independence

    About the School

You’ll be joining a setting that offers a safe and supportive environment for children who struggle in mainstream education. Staff here are dedicated to nurturing every child as an individual, and you’ll be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that shares the same mission: to help children flourish in education and in life.

    The Interview Process

The process is designed to make sure both you and the school feel this is the right fit. It includes:

    * An initial interview with us to explore your skills and experience

    * A school-based interview with the Deputy Head,

    Why This Role?

This is your chance to step into a role that’s about much more than lessons. It’s about confidence, resilience, and growth – for the children, and for you too.

If you’re ready to use your creativity, compassion, and energy to help children rediscover their potential, apply today to become a Nurture Teaching Assistant in the Swadlincote area
