How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Heating & Heat Pump Installer – Overview

    We are currently working with a Heating and Renewable Energy company based in Portsmouth area who are looking for an Installer to join the team. They have been operating since 2007 and have grown to become one of the largest installers of Boilers, Heat Pumps and Solar in the South of England. They began as a traditional plumbing and heating company, installing and maintaining boilers and heating systems in domestic properties however in the last 10 years, they have transitioned very successfully into renewable energy.

    They now install ASHP’s, Solar PV, Storage Heaters and other systems alongside natural gas boilers, oil boilers and other heating systems. As an Installer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of domestic heating systems, including gas boilers as well as low-carbon technologies such as air source heat pumps. You will work both independently and as part of a team depending on the systems you are installing. For example, if you are doing a simple combi-to-combi boiler swap, you will work independently. When completing a full retrofit ASHP install, you will work as a 2-3 man team.

    Whether a background in traditional gas/oil heating or newer heat pumps, they will utilise your existing skills as well as upskilling to newer technologies via our sponsorship programme, so that you can work on a multitude of appliances. They can pay for all additional training and tickets you wish to undertake.

    They currently turnover £10million and have circa 30 members of Staff. They also have a dedicated sub contractor network of circa 5-10 teams which they often utilise for the Heat Pump installations. Their goal is to double their turnover to £20million across the next 5 years, naturally this will come with a big increase in opportunities for you to progress and further your career.

    Heating & Heat Pump Installer – Requirements

    * ACS Domestic Gas Tickets (advantageous but not essential)

    * Experience on ASHP’s (advantageous but not essential)

    * Experience with Samsung and Vaillant systems would be advantageous

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    Heating & Heat Pump Installer – Salary & Remuneration

    * Salary of £40,000 - £47,000 (DOE)
