How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Design Engineer
    Location: Kings Lynn
    Salary: from £40,000 depending on experience

    The Role
    We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This is a full life-cycle product design and development role, focused on design for manufacture (DFM).
    You will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing designs while working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure highly integrated and manufacturable solutions are delivered.

    Key Responsibilities
    Design and develop mechanical products from concept through to manufacture
    Produce detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
    Generate high-quality manufacturing drawings, including full tolerances and finishing specifications
    Work collaboratively with manufacturing and other engineering teams to optimise designs for production
    Support continuous product improvement and innovation
    Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and performance requirements

    Requirements
    Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment
    Design experience within the food manufacturing or food processing industry
    Strong SolidWorks experience
    Proven experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances and finishing specifications
    A practical understanding of design for manufacture

    Working Hours
    Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
    Overtime available and paid at time and a half
