London Borough of Redbridge is looking for an experienced and motivated Adult Social Worker to join its integrated Adult Social Care team on a full-time locum basis. Working closely with health professionals and partner agencies, you will play a key role in supporting adults with complex needs while promoting independence, wellbeing, and safe community living.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake complex assessments, care planning, reviews, and safeguarding interventions for adults and carers.
* Work within the framework of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and related legislation.
* Manage complex caseloads while delivering high-quality, strengths-based interventions.
* Complete risk assessments and develop appropriate support and contingency plans.
* Support hospital discharge and admission avoidance through collaborative multidisciplinary working.
* Prepare reports for Court of Protection, County Court, and other statutory proceedings where required.
* Promote independence through personal budgets, community resources, and assistive technology solutions.
* Provide professional guidance, mentoring, and support to junior staff and colleagues.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
* Previous experience within Adult Social Care.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, and Care Act legislation.
* Ability to manage complex cases within a fast-paced integrated service.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
