How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A well-established manufacturer of industrial machinery is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join its engineering leadership team based in North Manchester.

This is a key role, reporting to the Head of Engineering & Operations, with responsibility for leading and improving all electrical engineering activities across a diverse range of machinery projects.

    The Role

You will act as the internal authority on electrical and control systems, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards of compliance, performance and efficiency.

You will bridge electrical design, controls integration, installation and commissioning — driving consistency, cost control and technical innovation across the product range.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Delivery & Technical Oversight

    * Define and approve electrical design scopes and interface documentation

    * Review and validate control panel designs, schematics and layouts

    * Provide technical leadership from concept through to FAT, SAT and commissioning

    * Coordinate with mechanical design teams and external control system partners

    * Deliver or oversee factory and site acceptance testing

    * Support commissioning and customer training on site

    Compliance, Safety & Quality

    * Ensure compliance with EN60204, UKCA/CE and machinery directive requirements

    * Lead or support risk assessments and functional safety reviews

    * Maintain accurate and complete technical documentation

    * Promote best practice across electrical design and installation

    Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    * Develop standard electrical designs and preferred component libraries

    * Improve reliability, modularity and build efficiency

    * Introduce modern technologies including condition monitoring and energy efficiency solutions

    * Support integration of digital reporting, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance features

    * Explore Industry 4.0 and industrial IoT applications

    About You

    * Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control or Automation Engineering

    * Proven experience within industrial automation, machinery or control systems (Siemens platforms advantageous)

    * Strong knowledge of EN60204, UKCA/CE conformity and functional safety

    * Ability to interpret and produce electrical schematics and control documentation

    * Experience managing suppliers, coordinating projects and controlling costs

    * Proficient with MS Office 365 and AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN

    * Organised, analytical and proactive with a hands-on approach

This is a brand new role within the business and they seek a driven individual to come on board and help develop this part of the engineering team. The company is offering a salary of up to £60k with great development prospects for the future.
