How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Motor Vehicle Course Leader
    Burton upon Trent (DE14)
    £30,624 - £36,590 Per Annum
    Permanent Position
    Start: ASAP and September 2026
    Full Time (Part Time Considered)
    Teaching on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Programmes
    Key Benefit: £4,500 'Golden Hello' paid in 3 instalments

    Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a Further Education provider in Burton upon Trent to appoint an experienced Motor Vehicle Course Tutor on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, learner-centred department committed to developing the next generation of automotive technicians. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across Level 1, 2 and 3 Motor Vehicle programmes, supporting learners to achieve excellent outcomes in both practical and theoretical components, while also taking a lead role in course coordination and learner progress.

    The Role:

    Deliver engaging Motor Vehicle lessons across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes
    Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with awarding body requirements
    Monitor attendance, retention, achievement, and learner progress
    Support and facilitate practical workshop-based learning and technical development
    Promote positive attitudes, behaviours, and professional industry standards
    Work collaboratively with Curriculum Team Leaders, Course Leaders, and management staff
    Support course organisation, quality assurance processes, and curriculum developmentWe Are Looking For:

    If successful, you must be available to start ASAP or September 2026
    A recognised Motor Vehicle qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
    Strong industry knowledge and hands-on experience within Motor Vehicle maintenance and repair
    Recent teaching experience within an FE setting is desirable, although industry professionals looking to move into education are encouraged to apply
    Experience delivering Motor Vehicle programmes up to Level 3 is desirable
    You should hold, or be willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
    Evidence of qualifications is required
