How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Regional Commercial Finance Business Partner

    Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

    Contract: Permanent

Here at our Mayborn HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne we're on the lookout for a Regional Commercial Finance Business Partner to join the team!

The role of the Regional Commercial Finance Business Partner is to act as the strategic finance partner to the region, driving profitable growth, disciplined investment, and improved commercial performance across markets. The role is accountable for maximising return on investment across regional initiatives by embedding finance into commercial decision making and acting as a catalyst for performance improvement.

A transformational, commercially focused role embedded within the regional commercial organisation. The Regional Commercial Finance Business Partner operates as a change agent — challenging assumptions, improving execution, and embedding best‑in‑class financial disciplines across markets and channels. The role ensures sustainable performance improvements through data‑led insights, rigorous investment governance, and enhanced decision quality.

    What you will be doing:

    Commercial Performance & P&L Ownership

    • Own and manage the full regional P&L, including revenue, gross margin, contribution, and operating costs.
    • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long range planning for the Region.
    • Provide clear performance insights and variance analysis against plan and prior year.

    Investment Evaluation & ROI Management

    • Partner with Regional Commercial, Sales, Marketing, and Category teams to evaluate investment cases.
    • Establish and track clear ROI metrics, ensuring benefits realisation post investment.
    • Challenge underperforming initiatives and redirect spend to higher return opportunities.

    Pricing, Promotions & Contribution Optimisation

    • Drive pricing, discounting, and promotional effectiveness across digital channels.
    • Analyse contribution margin by channel, customer, and product to optimise profitability.
    • Support test-and-learn initiatives with robust financial evaluation.

    Inventory, Working Capital & Cash

    • Partner with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to optimise inventory aligned with regional demand.
    • Improve stock turn, reduce obsolescence risk, and accelerate cash conversion.
    • Provide insight into demand volatility and its impact on inventory and cash.

    Decision Support & Transformation

    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior regional and market leadership.
    • Translate complex data into clear commercial actions and decisions.
    • Embed best practice financial governance, reporting, and performance management across markets.
    • Support finance transformation initiatives, including analytics, automation, and enhanced KPIs.

    Measures of Success

    • Regional P&L performance vs. Plan and prior year.
    • Forecast accuracy and visibility of risks & opportunities.
    • Measurable improvement in ROI on regional investments.
    • Improved contribution margins across markets/channels.
    • Reduced stock risk and improved cash.

What skills and experiences you’ll need to ace this job:

    • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
    • Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience within regional or multimarket organisations.
    • Proven track record in P&L ownership, forecasting, and investment evaluation.
    • Highly analytical with strong financial modelling and data interpretation skills.
    • Strong PowerPoint and Excel capability.
    • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
    • Agile, change oriented mindset with the ability to operate in fast paced, evolving environments.
    • Experience working across markets, cultures, and time zones.
