How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Commissioning Technician (Mechanical) - AWE Project | Contract Opportunity
    AWE Site
    £49/hour Inside IR35
    £100/day Accommodation Allowance
    11-Day Fortnight
    SC Clearance Preferred

    Are you an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician looking to work on one of the UK's most high-profile and technically complex projects?
    We're supporting the delivery of the MENSA project at AWE and are looking for skilled Commissioning Technicians to join the team on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a major nuclear infrastructure programme where safety, quality and technical excellence are at the heart of everything.

    The Role
    Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting commissioning activities across installation, testing, commissioning and handover phases of the project lifecycle.
    You'll be responsible for:
    Executing mechanical commissioning tests safely and to schedule
    Completing commissioning records, test documentation and raw data capture
    Supporting commissioning documentation and LTQR package compilation
    Working in line with approved procedures, standards and SSoWs
    Identifying and reporting technical or safety issues promptly
    Supporting safe site operations and contributing to ESH initiatives

    What We're Looking For
    Mechanical commissioning experience within complex industrial environments
    Level 3 qualification in an engineering or construction discipline
    IOSH Working Safely / Managing Safely or CCNSG Safety Passport
    CSCS affiliated card
    Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
    Highly desirable:
    Nuclear industry experience
    Previous nuclear site commissioning experience
    Existing SC Clearance
