We are looking for an experienced MOD SC Cleared Network Engineer to join a high-profile defence programme based onsite in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria (LA14 4BN).
This is a long-term contract opportunity working within a secure environment, collaborating with project managers, SMEs, architects, and operational support teams to deliver critical infrastructure and network projects.

Active MOD SC Clearance
Sole UK National
Must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last 5 years
Available to work 5 days onsite in Barrow-in-Furness

The Role
You will support the delivery and integration of complex enterprise network infrastructure solutions within a secure defence environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Installation and configuration of network hardware and infrastructure
Infrastructure surveys (wired and wireless)
Office moves, adds, and changes
Technical refresh of network hardware and cabling
Configuration of:
Switches
Routers
Firewalls
Load balancers
Voice systems
Network impact assessments
Testing and analysis against predefined plans
Collaboration with project delivery and support teams to ensure smooth transition into live services
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 5 years' experience in Network Engineering roles
Strong experience with:
Switching & routing
Firewall technologies
Load balancing
Enterprise voice networks
Cisco CCNA certified (or vendor equivalent)
Strong understanding of:
Network security
VPN technologies
Converged networks
LAN/WAN infrastructure
Broadband technologies
Experience with enterprise-level installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of:
Racking
Structured cabling
Containment systems and standards
SME-level expertise in one or more technical areas is advantageous
