How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teacher of Food and Hospitality

    A secondary academy in Leicester is seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology & Hospitality Teacher to join the school from September 2026 on a temporary basis.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with QTS to join a supportive and well-established Design & Technology department within a welcoming and ambitious Leicester secondary school. The role will primarily involve teaching Food Technology and Hospitality across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a small amount of additional Design Technology teaching included within the timetable.

    The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner who can deliver engaging and practical lessons, inspire students of all abilities, and contribute positively to a strong department and wider school community.

    The role will include:

    * Teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation & Nutrition, and Hospitality across KS3 and KS4

    * Delivering a small amount of Design Technology teaching as part of the timetable

    * Planning and delivering engaging, practical, and creative lessons

    * Supporting students to achieve strong academic progress

    * Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning

    * Working collaboratively within the Design & Technology faculty

    To be considered for this Food Technology Teacher role in Leicester, applicants must have:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

    * Experience teaching Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition

    * The ability to teach some Design Technology lessons

    * Strong classroom management skills

    * A genuine passion for secondary education and student development
